Day 1: Arrive Delhi
On your first, meet your guide at 9 am at the hotel for an orientation and introductions.
Explore both the historic and contemporary sides of Delhi, including a visit to the Shri Digambar Jain Temple and a street food market for local cuisine. In the afternoon, stroll through The Lodi Garden and admire India’s first Public Art District. Enjoy your first Indian meal and have a Hindi lesson with your group leader. The day ends with a visit to the impressive Sri Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, a famous Sikh Temple, beautifully lit up at night.
Day 2: Delhi – Varanasi by Train
Explore a local street food market, the spice market, India Gate, and Presidential Street. Conclude the day at Delhi’s oldest monument. Then, embark on a night train to Varanasi, the spiritual hub of India with over 2,000 temples, including the ‘Golden Temple’ dedicated to Lord Shiva, and a magnet for Hindu pilgrims performing rituals in the sacred Ganges River.
Day 3: Varanasi
Upon arriving in Varanasi, you’ll meet your new Adventure Leader, drop your bags at the hostel, and have the option for a local street food breakfast tour. Explore the city’s old town with a visit to the Blue Lassi store. In the evening, witness the stunning Ganga Aarti ceremony from the riverbanks. You can choose to take a boat ride down the River Ganges along the ancient Ghats or enjoy dinner at the local restaurant by the river. Get a good night’s rest as you’ll wake up early to catch the sunrise over the Ganges.
Day 4: Varanasi – Agra by Train
Experience the beauty of the Ganges with an early morning Ghat boat tour to witness a stunning sunrise. Then, explore the Sarnath archaeological site, including the museum with thousands of sculptures. Conclude your day by boarding an overnight train to Agra, home to the iconic Taj Mahal.
Day 5: Agra
Upon arrival in Agra, check into your accommodation. Explore the historic Agra Fort for culture or unwind by a hotel pool. In the evening, savor dinner and drinks, set in a Maharaja’s palace, for a royal experience.
Day 6: Agra – Jaipur (4 hrs drive)
Witness a breathtaking sunrise at the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an iconic white marble masterpiece. After savoring this moment, journey to Jaipur, the “Pink City” of Rajasthan, for a Hindi lesson and the option to visit a viewpoint with panoramic city views and Nahargarh Fort.
Day 7: Jaipur
Begin your day at Galtaji, the Monkey Temple, followed by a visit to the renowned Amber Fort, showcasing a blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural influences. Choose from optional activities like watching a Bollywood movie at Raj Mandir Theatre, indulging in local delicacies on a food court tour, or experiencing a night out in Jaipur.
Day 8: Jaipur – Jaisalmer by Train
Opt for a private guided tour of the Pink City, exploring the City Palace, its lush gardens, courtyards, and museums, some of which are still royal residences. Art enthusiasts can choose to attend an art class at Creatis Studio. In the evening, catch the 11.45 pm overnight train to Jaisalmer.
Day 9: Jaisalmer
Arriving in Jaisalmer, you’ll head to the Adventure Safari company’s base for rest, shower, and lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a jeep ride into the desert to kick off your Camel Safari, concluding with a vegetarian campfire dinner. Unwind, soak in the surroundings, and indulge in stargazing.
Day 10: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (5 hrs drive)
Begin your day with a captivating sunrise over the sand dunes, followed by an extended camel trek to a desert village. Return to the city for freshening up, and explore the iconic Jaisalmer Fort, known for its ornate Maharaja’s Palace and intricately carved Jain temples. You can also visit Gadi Sagar Lake and a nearby viewpoint. In the afternoon, a private transfer will take you to Jodhpur, with the opportunity for a third Hindi lesson before reaching your hostel.
Day 11: Jodhpur
Jodhpur, often called the ‘Blue Heaven’ for its iconic blue hues, welcomes you with a guided walking tour of the Blue City. Optional visits include Toorji Step Well, offering a café stop, and the daring opportunity to zip-line over the Mehrangarh Fort. In the evening, you can choose to participate in a Krishna cooking workshop to learn to prepare ten traditional dishes. Enjoy the flavors!
Day 12: Jodhpur – Mumbai by Flight
In the morning, take a flight to Mumbai and check in at your new accommodation. Afterward, join an orientation walk to visit the iconic Gateway of India and the bustling Colaba District.
If you’re up for an evening adventure, consider experiencing the vibrant local nightlife and wrap up your day with a pub crawl in the city.
Day 13: Mumbai
To delve into Indian life, begin your day with a tour of Dharavi, where you’ll witness thriving industries like textiles, leather, and recycling. This eye-opening experience will challenge your preconceptions about life in Indian slums.
Afterward, visit the Dhobi Ghat laundromat, the world’s largest open-air laundry bustling with activity. Here, you can observe hundreds of men cleaning clothes from across the city.
Day 14: Mumbai
In the morning, witness the legendary Dabbawala lunchbox delivery system in action, delivering hot lunches from homes and restaurants across India. Later, visit the two-story Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum, dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s life and work.
With a free afternoon, you can choose to relax or explore more of Mumbai’s historic attractions.
Day 15: Mumbai – Goa by Flight
Begin your day at your own pace with a relaxing free morning.
At 11 am, transfer to Mumbai airport for an afternoon flight to Goa. If you’re fortunate to secure a window seat, enjoy scenic views of the beautiful West Indian coastline during your flight.
In the evening, you’ll reach your hostel in Goa, where you can spend the remainder of the day as you wish. Seek recommendations from your guide for the best bars and restaurants, or take a sunset stroll along the nearby charming Vagator beach, known for its stunning sunset views.
Day 16: Goa
Start your day with a visit to Old Town, featuring historic Portuguese colonial buildings. Learn about Old Goa’s history as the capital of Portuguese India from the 16th to the 18th century.
Enjoy a day of relaxation at Goa’s scenic beaches, including Ozran and Chapora beaches near your hostel. Those seeking a quieter escape can venture to the less crowded Mandrem beach, just a 30-minute journey away.
End your day with a lively night out in Goa’s renowned nightlife scene. Your guide can suggest a nearby bar to kick off your evening.
Day 17: Goa
Embark on a morning kayaking adventure through Goa’s rivers and backwaters, getting up close to scenic jungles and mangroves as you paddle. It’s a fantastic way to experience the natural beauty of the area.
Afterward, enjoy some free time to make the most of your final day in Goa. Visit the remaining beaches on your list or explore heritage sites before your departure.
Day 18: Goa – Departure
Today marks the final day of your incredible three-week adventure through India. Congratulations on completing this epic journey! As your trip comes to a close, it’s time to bid farewell to your fellow travelers. Safe travels ahead!

Internet access is good in most major areas of India. Wi-Fi is available at most restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels, and malls. However, poor internet service does exist in remote areas and villages in India.
India has many festivals and events, but two of the biggest celebrations are Diwali and Holi. Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Lights celebrated annually for five days in either October or November. Holi is the Hindu Festival of Colours, celebrated annually in March after the full moon.
